Black Rose

Karen Karch is one of my favorite jewelry designers. Her designs are rough but delicate, and seem to incorporate influences as diverse as the Mughul Empire and Hell's Angels. My engagement ring and wedding band, both of which are rose gold, come from her Elizabeth Street store. She has fancied things up a bit since then, and I miss some of the old quirks (she used to have amazing displays with jewelry perched on dollhouse furniture and lit by working dollhouse chandeliers, but now she has changed to more traditional displays).

The website (with amazing photos by Marilyn Minter) has a regular feature called "Word of Mouth" which offers special discounts that run for a limited time. Her Entwined Hearts are the current special, just in time for Valentine's Day. I'll take mine in onyx and rose gold, please.
