Another new series: Realistic Chic. Listen, I'm all for fabulous fashion moments, but what is really amazing and inspiring is how to dress for real life and look amazing. Marion Cotillard is embodying that look here.
The classic chic of opaque black tights, but instead of heels or sleek knee-length boots, she's wearing short crepe-soled boots that achieve practical/cool nirvana. Then there's the casual throw-it-on denim mini and the flourish of the boucle jacket. The fact that she is wearing this outfit while toting around an infant just confirms that it's realistic. I do not, however, see a bag (necessary for schlepping baby stuff), but I'm assuming she has one and it's hidden.
OK I'm obsessed with her boots. What are they? Can any of my readers tell me?

Today when our Director of Basketry ran out for coffee, he bumped into our client Jennifer Garner Affleck. Having seen her at the park on Dec 26th, I was eager for an outfit update (possible future post alert: four days of fashion w/ JGA, how a celeb whose body is like the "other 99%" dresses when 9 months pregnant!). He described jeans and biker boots and when I declared that I had been coveting some biker boots to wear with leggings...well, let's just say he thought that sounded as appealing as an outfit constructed of bamboo and baskets! but check out neiman's - many good (pricey) options! actually headed there later to assess the sales!!
