Oh no you di'int!
You know, I totally get it that the '90s are back. Ripped jeans, bodysuits, Nirvana tshirts, Doc Martens, Manic Panic, and all that. But the straw market bag --the one I used throughout highschool (OK that was techincally the late '80s) to carry all my books and who knows what else-- I really just can't handle a revival of that. Of course, now, it's not just a bag --it's fair trade and made by artisans. No, not in Brooklyn, where most artisans apparently reside, but in "rural" Kenya. (Is it more artisanal if it's rural?) Madewell loves "the philanthropy behind them" as much as the bags, naturally.
